Sometimes you grow through adversity and and that is happening with this young Bearcat squad as they came up on the short end of a 40-8 decision at Penns Valley this evening. The Bearcats committed three turnovers in the first quarter that all led to touchdowns by the Rams and a quickly found themselves in a 21-0 hole early in the game. The Rams tacked on another score with zero's on the clock at the end of the 2nd quarter but missed the extra point to extend their lead at the half to 27-0. The 2nd half was much more evenly played as Penns Valley found paydirt once again mid-way through the third quarter to jump out to a 33-0 lead. However this time the young 'Cats squad responded with a 75 yard drive of their own capped off by a 1 yard touchdown run by Sophomore Lincoln Miller. Freshman Eric Mykut chipped in the extra point and Huntingdon was on the board make the score 33-7. Penns Valley would add another touchdown late in the 4th quarter to make the final 40-7. Huntingdon was led on the ground with Miller's 43 yards. Sophomore Ashton Steele finished 5-14, with 2 interceptions and 95 yards through the air. His favorite target was Sophomore Tyler Long who finished with 5 grabs for 60 yards including a beautiful 40 yard catch on 3rd down that kept a 4th quarter drive alive leading to the Miller touchdown.
