Win: 2 - 0
The HAMS girls soccer team concluded the season by visiting Bald Eagle Area and coming away with a 2-0 win.  The game started as the rain moved in making for a wet evening.  Huntingdon began well, controlling possession almost right away and moving the ball into the attacking third.  Natalee Honn and Harlee Krepps played outside and were both able to get around the corners to serve the ball in front of the net.  About mid-way through the first half Aleia Eagle took a corner kick and sent the ball into the middle where Julia Foster passed the ball across the front of the net to the right.  Harlee Krepps got it into the goal for a 1-0 lead.  BEA was able to get the ball up the field a few times, but Huntingdon maintained possession for most of the half.  Reagan Orenshaw, Katelyn Kyper, and Danelya Fortson all had good looks and took shots, but without success.  Five minutes into the second half Julia Foster played a ball from a BEA defender and sent it high over the keeper's head and into the net to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.  That lead held up as the final score as the Bearcats continued their efforts to maintain possession.  Huntingdon took 12 shots in the second half and a total of 18 in the game.  Molly Millar played in goal and had 1 save.   Huntingdon's jr. high girls end the season with a 6-6 record.  Natalee Honn scored 7 goals this season, while Aleia Eagle and Katelyn Kyper both followed close with 6 each.  Aleia Eagle had 8 assists on the season.

Win: 4 - 0
Huntingdon's girls jr. high hosted a depleted Phillipsburg team at Gobbler's Knob this evening.  Due to injuries Phillipsburg only brought 8 players to the game so the game was played 8v8.  Huntingdon was able to maintain possession for most of the first half, taking 7 shots at the goal but mostly directly at the P-O keeper.  With 3:11 remaining in the first half Julia Foster received the ball in front of the net and was able to get it across to the left side where Natalee Honn put it into the net.  Huntingdon played tough on defense with Ava Miller, Izadore Kazmarski, and Jessica Grove keeping most attempts in front of them and maintaining the scoreless half.  Less than a minute into the second half Aleia Eagle passed the ball up and Katelyn Kyper put the ball into the net to move the score to 2-0.  Three minutes later Aleia Eagle dribbled through the P-O defense and found the back of the net to move the score to 3-0, and then again she did the same thing at the 18 minute mark to set the final score at 4-0.  Even with 8 players on the field Huntingdon was able to control the middle of the field and get the ball into the attacking third to take 17 shots, including shots by Julia Foster, Ava Miller, Harlee Krepps, Gwen Tharp, and Maria Sanchez-Garcia, but none were successful.  .     Molly Millar played the entire game in goal and had 3 saves

Win: 2 - 1
Huntingdon's girls jr. high traveled to Clearfield Tuesday to face a tough Bison team.  Huntingdon started slow allowing Clearfield to maintain possession for most of the first half and take 5 first half shots.  Thanks to some brilliant saves by keeper Molly Millar, HAMS only gave up one goal and was limited to zero shots on the offensive end to trail 1-0 at halftime.  In the second half HAMS came out like a different team, connecting passes and possessing the ball, attacking when possible and working together.  Four minutes into the half Aleia Eagle worked the ball out of the middle and passed up the left side to Natalee Honn, who got around the defender and took a hard shot.  Clearfield's keeper blocked the shot but Katelyn Kyper was there for the rebound and put the ball into the net to tie the game at 1-1.  Only a minute later the ball was again played out of the middle by Aleia Eagle up the left to Natalee Honn, but this time the shot slipped by the keeper and into the net to give the Bearcats a 2-1 lead.  Reagan Orenshaw and Ava Miller both played strong on the defensive end to prevent shots as the game waned, including keeper Molly Millar stopping a Clearfield penalty kick and the HAMS defense stopping a wild fury in front of Huntingdon's goal to keep the score at 2-1.   Huntingdon took 5 shots, all in the second half while Clearfield took 9.  Molly Millar had 5 saves while Clearfield's keeper only had one.
Girls Junior High Soccer vs. Tyrone Area High School

Lose: 2 - 3
The Huntingdon jr. high girls hosted Tyrone at Gobbler's Knob this evening and played very well.  Tyrone was able to build a two-goal lead in the first half scoring on a through ball seven minutes into the game and again on a defensive failure five minutes later.  HAMS possessed the ball well and was able to connect passes to move the ball up the field, but were just unable to get any good looks at the goal.  In the second half the Bearcats continued to possess the ball well and came back on the scoreboard when Katelyn Kyper received a pass from Aleia Eagle and arched a high shot over the Tyrone keeper that reached the back of the net.  Izadore Kazmarski, Ava Miller, and Reagan Orenshaw were able to move the ball out of the defensive end up to Harlee Krepps, Julia Foster, and others in the midfield and eventually forward to pressure the Tyrone goal.  At the 15 minute mark of the second half Aleia Eagle was fouled inside the penalty area and Natalee Honn calmly put the penalty kick into the net, tying the score at 2-2.  The score remained tied until Tyrone was able to put a ball out of the reach of Huntingdon's keeper, Molly Millar and into the net with 8 minutes remaining to take the lead.  Huntingdon's chances to tie again were limited and Tyrone was able to hold on for a 3-2 victory.  In the game Tyrone took 22 shots while Huntingdon took 3.  Molly Millar played the entire game in goal and made 17 saves.  Huntingdon is now 3-6 and is next scheduled to travel to Clearfield on Tuesday, 10/19 for a 5:30 start.

Win: 3 - 0
Huntingdon's girls jr. high soccer team traveled to Phillipsburg and came away with a 3-0 victory.  Huntingdon scored all three goals in the first half, Harlee Krepps led off the scoring with an unassisted goal after driving the ball in from the right side and finding the back of the net.  The next two goals were both assisted goals, with Aliea Eagle settling the ball in front of the net and passing across to Katelyn Kyper for the scores.  The half ended with Huntingdon controlling most of the possession.  The second half was back and forth, but injuries forced HAMS to play one down.  Neither team made any goals, but Maria Sanchez-Garcia, Ava Miller, and Gwen Tharp all had good looks and took shots at the net.  Molly Millar played most of the game as keeper and recorded 2 saves.  Katelyn Kyper finished the game as keeper and had one save.
Girls Junior High Soccer vs. Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School

Lose: 1 - 5
Hollidaysburg came to Huntingdon and came away with a 5-1 victory over the HAMS girls.  Huntingdon started out fast when Hollidaysburg fouled inside the penalty box and then Natalee Honn scored on the resulting penalty kick.  Hollidaysburg got that goal back on a free kick of their own just outside the penalty box, and then added three more goals before halftime on Bearcat defensive mistakes to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.  In the second half Huntingdon played with more passion as Reagan Orenshaw, Harlee Krepps, and Katelyn Kyper worked hard to push the ball into the attacking third of the field.  Huntingdon had a couple goals called back due to offsides calls, but kept the pressure on most of the second half.  Julia Foster and Aleia Eagle found space in the midfield that created runs up the field, but Huntingdon was unable to score again.  A poor defensive play left the net open near the end of the game and Hollidaysburg was able to score one goal in the second half to set the final score at 5-1.  Molly Millar played in goal and had 9 saves.
Girls Junior High Soccer vs. Bellefonte Area High School

Lose: 1 - 5
The HAMS girls jr. high team traveled to Bellefonte this evening and came away with a very disappointing 5-1 loss.  At times the bearcats played strong in the middle of the field with Katelyn Kyper, Reagan Orenshaw, and Aleia Eagle connecting passes to move the ball forward and setting up scoring opportunities.  Julia Foster and Natalee Honn helped set up crossing passes, but unfortunately, none of those passes found offensive players and didn't reach the back of the net.  On defense the bearcats were not able to contain the dribbling skills of the Red Raiders and gave away easy scoring opportunities.  The Raiders took a 2-0 lead into halftime and added to that early in the second half.  The Bearcats got one of those back on a corner kick that resulted in an own goal to make the score 3-1, but Bellefonte found the back of the net two more times and finished out with a 5-1 win.
Girls Junior High Soccer vs. Penns Valley Area Junior/Senior High School

Win: 3 - 2
Tonight the jr. high girls played at home against a very tough, but shorthanded team from Penns Valley.  The team came in with only ten players, but controlled the ball for much of the first half building a 2-0 lead mid-way through.  But the Bearcats were able to settle in and Katelyn Kyper broke through the PV defense late in the first half and scored the HAMS first goal.  Molly Millar had 4 saves to keep the Eagle's lead from growing.  The second half started much better, the Bearcats were able to keep possession of the ball, Julia Foster and Reagan Orenshaw played well in the middle of the field and provided some much needed support to the defense, while Ava Miller and Izadore Kazmarski ran down any attempts at breakouts.  Twice in the second half Danelya Fortson found space on through balls by Aliea Eagle and Katelyn Kyper, and raced down the field to find the back of the net, giving the home Bearcats a 3-2 lead and in the end a 3-2 win.  Molly Millar had 5 saves in the second half.

The HAMS Jr. High Girls soccer team faced Bald Eagle this evening at Gobbler's Knob.  Huntingdon started off slow against an undermanned team from BEA who brought only 10 players to the game; the Bearcats were not aggressive in the early going and were slow to react and slow to attack when opportunities arose.  Despite the slow start, Huntingdon was able to move the ball forward and get excellent scoring opportunities when Natalee Honn and Aleia Eagle crossed the ball in front of the goal for scoring opportunities by Maria Sanchez-Garcia and Katelyn Kyper, but none with success.  Huntingdon's defense kept the ball in the attacking third of the field setting up Izadore Kazmarski for a free kick that sailed just over the top of the net.  Finally, near the end of the first half the Bearcats were able to connect when Aleia Eagle passed the ball to the wide side of the net setting up the first goal of the game by Natalee Honn.   In the second half the Bearcats played much cleaner and more aggressive, scoring three goals by Aleia Eagle, a second goal by Natalee Honn, and one by Danelya Fortson for a final score of 6-0.  Molly Millar played the first half in goal but did not have any saves; Maria Sanchez-Garcia played the second half in goal and made two saves.   The team is now 1-3 and faces Penn's Valley at home on Wednesday at 5:30.

Tonight the Girls Jr. High Soccer team traveled to Tyrone.  Both teams played all of the first half and twenty minutes in the second half before Tyrone broke through and scored two goals in two minutes to come away with a 2-0 win.  Aliea Eagle had three shots in the first half and Izadore Kazmarski had two corners, but none of them were able to get through to the net.  Katelyn Kyper moved to defense and played strong, but in the end Huntingdon's defensive shape fell apart and Tyrone was able to slip through.  Molly Millar played in goal and had 11 saves
Girls Junior High Soccer vs. Hollidaysburg Jr. High

Lose: 1 - 2
The girls jr. high soccer team played today at Hollidaysburg and came away on the losing end of a 2-1 decision. Hollidaysburg scored both of their goals in the first half on some long runs attacking our goalie 1v1.  Katelyn Kyper and Ava Miller both had good looks at the net but their shots were just off.  Just before halftime Natalee Honn picked up a loose ball in front of the net and pounded home a goal that brought us back into the game.  Both teams had opportunities and shots at the net in the first half, but neither was able to get the ball into the net.  Early in the second half Aliea Eagle moved the ball up the field with a nice pass to the right where Danelya Fortson had a terrific scoring opportunity, but the Hollidaysburg keeper made a good save and the score remained.  Both teams kept taking shots, but neither was able to score and the game ended at 2-1.  Molly Millar, Huntingdon's keeper, made some impressive saves and played very well, making 12 saves.      Huntingdon is now 0-2 and plays at Grugan field on Wednesday at 5:30 against Phillipsburg-Osceola.
